How CBD Can Help Your Sleep

One of the main reasons I use CBD is to help my sleep. I am someone that NEEDS enough sleep to function and be a pleasant person to be around. As I got older and more stressed, as naturally tends to happen, it became harder for me to fall asleep. And, while I was tired, I found that I couldn’t always turn my mind off when it was time to go to sleep. Sometimes just the worry about not being able to fall asleep and get enough sleep would keep me up. The stress and anxiety of it all just made the problem worse.

Using CBD as part of my nightly routine has helped tremendously with my sleep. A big part of it is CBD’s role in easing my anxiety and calming my mind, which cannabis has proven to do. Anxiety commonly interferes with sleep and CBD tends to calm anxiety, making falling asleep much easier.

The topic of CBD as a sleep aid is a popular one, partially because of varying study outcomes. These are often the result of the different types of CBD being studied. However, a number of studies have clearly demonstrated the ability of CBD to help people fall asleep more quickly, stay asleep longer, and wake up feeling more rested. Medical News Today mentions that “One investigation found that, compared with a placebo, a CBD dosage of 160 milligrams(mg) increased sleep duration. The researchers also concluded that the placebo, 5 mg of the insomnia drug nitrazepam, and 40, 80, and 160 mg of CBD helped the participants fall asleep.”

From my personal experience, CBD has been a huge help with my sleep patterns. I typically will have two C.B. Dough cookies or one brownie to get my perfect dosage (30 mg).
