How CBD Can Help Your Skin

Soothe your mind and body at the same time

By Sammy Davidoff

As I talked about in the “Why Take CBD?” article, one of the many ways in which CBD can help us is its anti-inflammatory properties. CBD is a very trendy ingredient right now, not only in food, but in skincare too. Over the past few years people have begun learning more and more about how this unique ingredient can help not only your mind but your body as well. Personally, I feel like I am always looking for ways to help decrease internal inflammation as well as when related to blemishes and redness of the skin.

What better way to have a self-care spa night at home than with some CBD goodies to help reduce inflammation and have you ready to relax?

An article in Forbes provides some insight from Ildi Pekar, an NYC-based aesthetician and founder of her own eponymous skincare line. She spoke about why CBD is particularly good for your skin. Ildi states that “cannabidiol offers some serious antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits which can be beneficial in treating skin concerns like inflammation, dryness and free radical damage.” The article also mentions that CBD may be an effective way to combat acne as it can help reduce the production of sebum in the skin.

I believe in healing from the inside out and that a lot of what we put into our bodies has an effect on how we not only feel but appear on the outside. For example, when I eat certain things such as processed foods, excess salt, or gluten I notice I feel more bloated or inflamed. Sometimes when I eat larger amounts of sugar or dairy, I notice my skin acts up more. I’m sure many can relate to this feeling and I certainly believe that CBD is one of the things that is beneficial to put into my body. I like to think of it as the calming ingredient, it calms your mind and your body all at once. It has an overall soothing effect that I think makes it an ideal and luxurious ingredient to add into a variety of products. We hope you try out some C.B.Dough products if you’re looking to soothe your skin concerns from the inside out! Plus, it’ll satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time.
